Designed for the modern metal bass player with high quality expectations at an affordable price, this Solar Type AB2 range bass guitar offers outstanding elegance and performance.
These Type AB2 series bass guitar boasts stealth looks, a distinctive cutaway scoop and a remarkable feature set, making it a precise, professional instrument suitable for both stage and studio work. It comes loaded with a reliable high mass bass bridge with enhanced sustain and two Solar soapbar dual coil pickups and preamp system with volume, balance, bass and treble control that provides deep and rich lows and punchy midrange. The AB2 series bass features a bolt-on neck with natural matte back finish and 34”(4 string) scale length or 35”(5 string) scale length, fast and comfortable 5 piece maple/jatoba neck and an ebony fingerboard with 24 super jumbo frets and small position marker dots. It includes Solar 17:1 tuners, pps nut and black matte hardware.
With groundbreaking musicianship and energetic showmanship, Marzi Montazeri (aka “The High Priest of Distortion”), is a guitarist and producer from Houston, Texas. Marzi has consistently been an exciting draw for fans throughout the years, bringing varying styles to his music. Along the way, he has redefined electric guitar technique while changing the sound, structure, and style of the instrument itself.
In the 1990’s, Marzi joined Superjoint Ritual and is featured on the last two tracks of the first album. By March of 2010, Marzi rejoined forces with Philip Anselmo to work on what would be Anselmo’s first solo project since the end of Pantera. In his time with Philip H. Anselmo & the Illegals, Marzi recorded two EP’s, “War Of The Gargantuas”, and “Housecore Horror”. Following up with a full length album, “Walk Through Exits Only” reached #34 on the Billboard Top 200 charts. In 2015, Marzi went back out on his own and created Crunchy Western Records.
He consequently released a 6 track EP called the “The Uprising” featuring Tim ”Ripper” Owens in 2017. This effort was followed by a full length release by Heavy As Texas in April of 2019, featuring Kyle Thomas on vocals. Kyle then invited Marzi to join the newly reformed Exhorder. Marzi joined Exhorder in November 2017, and is featured on the September 2019 release of the band’s long awaited third release, “Mourn The Southern Skies”.
Both Heavy As Texas and Exhorder will be touring throughout 2020, and then Montazeri will get back in the studio for the Heavy As Texas sophomore attempt!
Solar Guitars and Marzi Montazeri are working together on a signature guitar , to be released sometimes during Q2 2020.
Solar Guitars announces the addition of Jonas Stålhammar and Martin Larsson from At The Gates, the legendary swedish death metal band, as the newest members of theSolar Guitarsartist family with a new Signature Series guitar.
The Solar A1.6 Baritone ATG is based on the Solar Type A model, and includes an extended scale neck (26,5”), a pair of Fishman Fluence Modern active humbuckers, Hipshot fixed bridge, Luminlay side dots and comes strung with D’Addario NYXL 11-64 tuned to B standard.

We are proud to announce the new Solar Guitars E1.6 Jensen signature guitar. An open pore swamp ash monster with EMG pickups, Grover locking tuners, locking strap pins among the many features. We have a bunch available in the batch we’re shipping out this coming week.
