Heergott – Heergott – Magoth Solar Artists

Magoth was created in 2011 by frontman Heergott. Inspired by the »Second Wave of Black Metal«.
Along with lead guitarist Mordath, the musical foundation for Magoth was laid.

The created demo player was recorded by Heergott at RR-Studios, but not released for the time being. Gathering a line up became the main priority after Mordath left the band in 2013.

A publication of the demo player was decided after Shagnar joined the project in 2014. The well-attuned companions gave rise to a whole new dynamic. In 2015 drummer Widrir joined the band. His powerful and aggressive style sparked the true potential of Magoth and created a new sound dimension. Henceforth, the songs were celebrated together. Magoth should definitely find its place on stage.

On April 4th 2016 Magoths demo player Der Toten Gesang was released. Mixed and mastered by Liquid Aether Audio.

The limited edition of 200 copies was sold out within one year. Due to several show confirmations at the beginning of 2016 a guest bassist was engaged. But short time after, Havoc took on that position and completed a lineup of »brothers in spirit«. Magoths debut album Anti Terrestrial Black Metal was released on June 30th 2017.

In 2019 Heergott decided to part ways with Shagnar, Havoc and Widrir to breath new life into the project with new musicians and to get a time-off for himself.

After a short search for new allies, Erik »Alator« Dörrschuck (Frigoris, Death Comes in Waves, Sanity’s Eclipse) took his seat behind the drums, Asmodis (Call of Charon, ex-Majesty) joined the project on bass and Arakiel (Escarnium) on lead-guitar.

With a new, stronger than before line-up, the plans for the upcoming album became more concrete and the final touches were finished within 3 months. Heergott decided to join forces with US-based label »Ferocious Records« to produce and publish the upcoming album.

As the other 3 albums before, the recordings took place at Liquid Aether Audio in June 2020 and have been finished within 9 days. During the recording sessions it became obvious that Heergott made the right decisions since the outcome was more diverse, mature and captivating than the previous records.

When COVID-19 hit the world it also took it’s toll on Magoth. Already confirmed gigs had to be canceled , »Alator« and »Asmodis« were replaced by »Infernum« on bass and »Hymir« on drums. »Heergott« used the extra time to write new material for Magoth’s fourth output, to be released the 1st half of 2024.

You must be ready to burn yourself in your own flame;
how could you rise anew if you have not first become ashes?
