Orecus is a modern death metal band hailing from Sweden.
Drawing influences from bands such as Dyscarnate, Decapitated & Meshuggah, Orecus form a clear path between sheer brutality and clever songwriting.
Swedish modern death metallers Orecus released their debut album ‘The Obliterationist’ in March 2021 via Violent Groove.
The album features guest vocal appearances by Chad Kapper (Frontierer) & Fredrik Söderberg (Soreption). Upon its release, ‘The Obliterationist’ received great reviews from outputs such as Sweden Rock Magazine, Sonic Perspectives, NoCleanSinging and more.
‘The Obliterationist’ was mixed & mastered by Buster Odeholm of Odeholm Audio (Humanity’s Last Breath, Vildhjarta, Hacktivist).
On January 25th 2024, Orecus released the first single from their upcoming second album ‘Dreadnought’ (April 5th 2024)

‘Dreadnought’ includes 10 songs, 5 of which features guest appearances by Björn Strid (Soilwork), Filip Danielsson (Humanity’s Last Breath), Joe McGlynn (Man Must Die), Kevin McCaughey (Ion Dissonance) and Peter Wichers (ex-Soilwork).
