Isa Nielsen was born in Herning, Denmark. She moved to São Paulo at the age of 2. She began studying guitar at 14 and soon formed her first band. Shortly thereafter, she chose music as her profession and studied under renowned teachers.
At 19, she played in the backing band for the TV show “Idols.” On MTV, she took part in the reality show “Rocka Rolla” and “World Rock Day.” She was a former guitarist for the band “Detonator e as Musas do Metal” and performed at the 2012 MTV VMB. In 2014, she recorded for the album “Detonator – Metal Folclore” and the double DVD “Live inSana,” released in 2015, both with the band Detonator.
In 2016, she joined Robertinho de Recife’s band Metal Mania and performed various shows across Brazil.
In 2017, she had an exceptional opportunity when she not only became a part of the all-female Thrash Metal band Volkana, performing across Brazil, including at Sesc, but also shared a remarkable moment. During the same year, Isa Nielsen had the privilege of jamming with Steve Vai during his soundcheck in São Paulo for the Passion and Warfare 25 Years Anniversary Tour. This experience further highlighted her musical versatility and prowess.
In 2018, she participated in the Samsung Best of Blues and Rock festival, opening for shows by Tom Morello and John 5 with her instrumental solo career. The performances took place in Porto Alegre at Praça Por do Sol and at Auditório Ibirapuera, with an audience of over 40,000 people.
Another thrilling highlight marked Isa Nielsen’s journey. Guns N’ Roses showcased a video on their social media platforms, spotlighting her rendition of “Sweet Child o’ Mine.” This performance captured substantial attention, accumulating over 3.6 million views on Facebook. This recognition from such an iconic band signified a remarkable achievement in Isa’s musical career.
In 2018, Isa Nielsen also graced the stage at NAMM, where she showcased her musical talents on an international platform.
From there, Isa Nielsen continued to release more original music and delivered a captivating performance at Rock In Rio in 2019. In that very year, she co-founded the band Distorted Duo alongside guitarist Tiago de Moura, skillfully showcasing a blend of both clean and guttural vocals. Even amidst the challenges posed by the pandemic, Isa’s exceptional talent shone brightly, as she received invitations to contribute to recording projects spanning the globe, including countries like the United States, Germany, India, Pakistan, Canada, the United Kingdom, Qatar, Hong Kong, and beyond.
In 2021, Isa hosted the Masterclass “Exploring the Significance of Art and Culture through Instrumental Music” during the virtual rendition of the Samsung Best Of Blues and Rock festival. Simultaneously, she played a pivotal role in producing a promotional video for actress Flávia Alessandra as a key component of a campaign for Hard Rock Hotels. This creative venture involved a fascinating deepfake concept, where Isa skillfully played the guitar while seamlessly embodying the appearance of Flávia Alessandra, resulting in a captivating visual fusion.
In 2022, Isa undertook a new venture by launching her inaugural online guitar course. Concurrently, she was deeply immersed in the creative process, crafting fresh compositions for her highly anticipated upcoming album.
Moving forward to 2023, Isa Nielsen unveiled her latest musical endeavor with the release of the single and accompanying music video titled “Leech.” Presently, she remains fully dedicated to crafting her forthcoming album, exemplifying her steadfast commitment to her musical journey.
