Franklin Manrique is a Colombian guitar player, writer and science teacher born in 1985. He began to play electric guitar at the age of 19 in University rock and metal bands, and writing lyrics for folklore projects. He moved to Chile in 2012 and joined Defragment in 2016 as guitar player and songwriter, with a line up made up by renowned musicians from Venezuelan and Chilean extreme metal scene. Currently they’re promoting their first album called Outbreak, a debut where the band wants to take advantage of the wide melodic and rhythmic spectrum developed by extreme metal subgenres in the last thirty years, along with the classic and contemporary influences from their members and a modern production, to offer a brutal, fast, catchy, and eclectic sonic turmoil.
